1. No kidding! When I read that this a.m. I was shocked that anyone (especially in a higher public position) would claim false credentials in this day and age. You're GOING to be discovered sooner or later (although I personally know of cases that took quite a while).
But, I agree Heaven help us indeed.
2. Do you people get it yet?
3. What a story. Is McGinn more incompetent than Obama? He certainly appears to be in way over his head so far.
4. Sounds like this guy is a candidate for an Obama czar position...or a cabinet seat.
5. True to his namesake, Bushnell is only magnifying Mayor McGinn's problems
6. Note to voters: Use the common sense that God gave you. In the future - beware and steer clear of any candidates in the future that run on hope and change and espouse "transformation".
7. Surely there are many qualified individuals who can do this job that DON'T lie and DON"T have criminal records??
8. No kidding Michele...we recently advertised for an office-manager type position for 'far' less salary than this and got 120+ applications. I kid you not. There are some VERY qualified persons out there looking for a job and I've seen it first hand.
9. good riddens. if this were a conservative, he'd be getting a raise.
i bet he tips better than 10% and doesn't have kids than can't behave, though.
10. Now that the Scott Brown Era has begun in the US Senate Washington and the nation are on our way to better government. The Republican party will fight for free markets and attack corruption.
What's this?
"Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) has blocked at least four White House nominees for federal jobs, citing the ongoing air tanker controversy between Boeing and Northrop Grumman."
Surely our Republican party will not use its new political power in the Senate to engage in and support these political shenanigans and their ant-free market bias for the benefit of Boeing's foreign competitor, EADS?
Not the party of Country First!
No one could have predicted.
Now, let's back to the discussion about the story that liberal PubliCola broke
about a dolt who claimed a PhD in a powerpoint presentation and got canned by the liberal mayor.
11. MikeBoyScout, while this was broke on Publicola, even a cursory glance at the comments for the last few posts regarding it show several people concerned about why it took so long for anyone to look at the matter, even Publicola. They are basically implying that nobody there was willing to look critically at anything regarding the new mayors office until he took an unpopular (to them) stance with layoffs and the sea-wall.

13. I have been voting in the Seattle mayoral elections in Seattle since the mid 1970s.
And I have never been shy about offering my opinions to them about their "visions".
Sometimes my opinions were in support.
More often not beginning with Norm Rice.
I have NEVER seen a Mayor off to a WORSE start.
We have now an ulra-arrogant Mayor whose blowhardiness exceeds even that of former Mayor Nickels.
Can you imagine a "leader of the community" who uses a Washington State Department of Transportation computer generated cartoon as his proof that the Sea-Wall needs to be replaced immediately?
Was he here for the 6.8 Nisqually Quake? Vehicle and pedestrian traffic along the Viaduct and Sea Wall proceeded normally.
No one slid out to sea. I wish I had some video to show him. I could even cartoonize it for him with some fancy animation software.
14. The Who's playing this weekend, seems appropriate.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
15. I don't see what the problem here is. If you trundle back to the other Washington, Obama is staffing his administration with three tax cheats, a couple of communists and a man-boy love aficionado who wants to teach fisting to school children. McGinn and his young fraudster are pikers compared to the national boys.
But these are only the ones getting caught. Imagine how many of these government employed elitist miscreants and perverts are running free, protected by an ever compliant press looking the other way.
And these are the types of folks who will be controlling out health care. Give me an insurance company any day.
16. The only requirement for government employment is belief in the statist agenda. Lift up the rocks. There are plenty more where Haugen lurks.
17. I'm thankful I don't live in Seattle!!The dog and pony show with the progressive politicians there is sickning!!
18. Mike,
Where's the homophobic intolerance? Has not Kevin Jennings come out in support of NAMBLA and teaching kids fisting?
19. Remember, we start from Nickels as a point of reference.
Thus far McGinn has proven to be something of a wuss (the "non-firing" of 200 at-will upper level staff because *gasp* they created a protest web-page) and generally a nicer guy than Nickels.
Not a complete win by any means, but a screaming improvement, nonetheless.
We're going to need to wait a bit to discover if, however nice McGinn may be, he's got a clue or is just as misguided as the thankfully departed Nickels.
