It would be poetic justice for a opportunistic fraud like Gore to have the loser Current TV dumped back in his lap.
Posted by KDS at February 13, 2013 06:46 PMWow, can you image Gore and Palin having a debate? Now that'd be strange. In fact, that would be very, very strange.
Really, Ron, isn't starting an Al Gore bash the day after a transitional SOTU speech that took place as the GOP is splintering into two factions that are now vicously and publicly attacking each other whistling past the graveyard? Hey, there's a topic for you. "How is it that Sound Politics has been reduced to whistling past the graveyard?"
The situation facing the Republicans today gives Sound Politics an opportunity to be relevant again. I just don't think a Gore bash is going to cut it, Ron, not if you want your blog to assume a leadership role and be relevant in shaping the course of your party's future.
It's time to pick a side of the wingnut schizm, Ron! I suggest that you pick the side Pudge isn't on and then ditch him. Besides not being terribly bright, there's that very nasty thing of his, calling everybody liars who merely disagree with him and then banning them. That has to be like a wet blanket on your blog.
Posted by Doctor Steve at February 13, 2013 07:08 PMUm, no. It's Al-Jazeera's Current TV.
Gore scammed those Arabs for $100M for a station that nobody in America has ever bothered to watch. If trading arms for hostages with Iran is stuff of wingnut sainthood, shouldn't Gore and what he's done to Al-Jazeera at least be the stuff of a wingnut heroism?
Posted by Doctor Steve at February 13, 2013 07:22 PMLaughter is one appropriate response to fact-free accusations, yes, especially for a public figure, who lacks the protections against libel and slander the rest of us enjoy. Good show, Mr. Gore!
It is estimated that he gained $70 to $100 million on the sale.
One of the Republican conceits, immune to all evidence, holds that they are much, much better at business than are we libs. Watching the hated Mr. Gore beat so many Republicans at their own self-described game really burns them, doesn't it?
Surely he cannot be held to the standard he uses on others.
[citation needed]
Thursday you will want to ask distinguished Nobel laureate Gore if this is what he was talking about when he said he was proud of the sale.
Just like the crowd here asked Dr. Krauthammer about those missing WMDs in Iraq, no doubt. Why don't you quote what they asked him, Ron? (Leadership, how does it work?)
He declared that Islam's mandated death-penalty for apostasy has kept Islam alive since the 1400s. "If they had gotten rid of the apostasy punishment Islam wouldn't exist today," Qaradawi said on the show.
"My religion exists today only because of the credible threat of violence against those who might question it," hardly constitutes a ringing endorsement of said religion. Note also the lack of any call to action in these quotes, which are (unflattering) descriptions of Islam by one of its own adherents(!). Hardly celebrating that creed, now is it?
Besides not being terribly bright, there's that very nasty thing of his, calling everybody liars who merely disagree with him and then banning them.
None of the front-page posters here, nor their peanut gallery of commeters, has any problem with vindictive, censorious intolerance as the leitmotif of this conservative site. As a Seattle liberal, I have no problem with it either.
Posted by tensor at February 13, 2013 11:08 PMDefinitely going to go back to ignoring your posts.

Definitely going to go back to ignoring your posts.
Ironically, one comment too late! :-)
Oh, and Gore. may you have safe travels on your gas guzzling gulf stream, you hypicritical dolt!
Posted by Rick D. at February 14, 2013 06:54 AMHow can one identify a wingnut? They only laugh when people are suffering and dying.
Posted by Doctor Steve at February 14, 2013 08:16 AM"We're talking about Al-Jazeera, which, as we have already seen, allows fundamentalist Islamists to hang themselves on television+
You just showed your ignorance about radical Islam with a comment like that. There is no shame to a radical Islam (i.e. jihadist) about hanging themselves or beheading "infidels". You fail to comprehend that they place little value on human life. Ron's post is accurate and you are out in lala land. If you don't believe it, try befriending an Islamist.

Conservatives talk out of both sides of their mouths. They are unreliable liars -- the type who gave pox infested blankets to the Indians and called it charity.
Since when is Ted Nugent's threats on the presiden's life patriotism and Islamic fundamentalist threats terrorism?

Leftist moonbats like you lie through their teeth.
Since when is Ted Nugent's threats on the presiden's life patriotism and Islamic fundamentalist threats terrorism?
Demonstrate what threats from Nugent - you can't. Another lie.

You and @15 are wasting your time - no one of sound mind pays attention to your insane moonbat opinions.

"Obama's a-hole"
One of Obama's bodily orifices has something to do with your blind hatred leading you to condemn all Muslims? Care to explain?
This ought to be interesting.

Excuse me for laughing at you, KDS, but how on earth would you ever know what someone of sound mind might think?
Posted by Doctor Steve at February 14, 2013 12:20 PM"FreedomWorks created a promotional video that depicted former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton having oral sex with a woman in a giant panda suit"
And the idea was to show this to Christian conservatives? Well, I reckon FreedomWorks understands Christian conservative tastes better than I do.
Hmm, I just remembered that Republican senate aid Alan David Berlin was busted for, well, it involves a panda costume and an underaged teen.
http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/local/region/orie-aide-accused-of-soliciting-teen-for-furry-sex-343874/
Pandas. Even KDS could connect the dots on this one.
Maybe I should take his lead and tar all Republicans with having a really strange panda fetish. Nah, that'd be no different than KDS tarring all Muslims for the actions of a few so I'm not going to go there. That's not to say that it wouldn't have been fun. Heh. Pandas.

Posted by KDS at February 14, 2013 01:05 PMHow can I believe that the big-government posters don't know Algore has criticized "big oil" for years -- decades? Gore is only a capitalist when it involves his own pockets.
Posted by Ron at February 14, 2013 02:31 PMOf course, that topic would bore the usual suspects who are so concerned about this blog whistling past the graveyard... So bring it on !
Posted by KDS at February 14, 2013 02:59 PMJust get out and stay out of the Middle East!
Posted by Liertarian at February 14, 2013 03:31 PMIndeed, I'm trying to be helpful. Sure, I try to poke you and Pudge at the same time, Ron, but it was a sincere suggestion that you move the blog in a direction towards more relevancy. After all, HA has only one troll left. If you don't thrive, what am I gonna do for kicks? So, yes, I'm concerned for your success.
"How can I believe that the big-government posters don't know Algore has criticized "big oil" for years -- decades?"
For my part, I think my calling Gore a gasbag and hypocrite in the first sentance of my first comment was a clear enough statement of where I stand on Al Gore. It's been that way for a very long time.
KDS must have taken a pill. His first paragraph @27 isn't bad, Ron.
"Of course, that topic would bore the usual suspects who are so concerned about this blog whistling past the graveyard..."
No, I wouldn't be bored, KDS. This is the time for these things to be talked about by you people. If not now, when? At times like this when there is so much at stake for conservatives, talking about Al Gore really is whistling past the graveyard. For all of my dissing of you, you do seem to get this.
Posted by Doctor Steve at February 14, 2013 04:25 PMNot to dwell on this one, KDS, but just do a search using FreedomWorks, panda and Clinton. It's breaking and it's all over the place. Worse yet, thay used interns in the roles of the panda and Clinton. I understand that good and decent Republicans draw the line at interns. So I'd say that someone at FreedomWorks messed up big time. But I also say that one shouldn't tar all Republicans as having panda fetishes just because of the actions of a few rogues, just as one shouldn't tar all one billion Muslims because of the relatively few who are terrorists.
Posted by Doctor Steve at February 14, 2013 04:36 PMWhy don't you prove that Nugent did not say what he did say.
Disprove it.

Posted by KDS at February 14, 2013 05:00 PMDisprove it.
Posted by Angelus Novus at February 14, 2013 04:49 PM
No need to, because you lied about what he said and/or purposely misquoted him. He threatened himself not the President, Putz - and the secret service investigated it, but they quickly dropped it. Are you going to provide documented proof or double down and keep lieing ?
Posted by KDS at February 14, 2013 05:04 PMDon't be such a stupe, KDS. I don't need to prove anything to you. At this point, I'd say that's up to FreedomWorks.
Days before the FreePAC event, the video was screened for staff. "My mouth was wide open," a former official recalls. "'What the hell is this?'" Several FreedomWorks staffers were outraged and stunned that Brandon, the group's second-in-command after [President and CEO] Kibbe, had overseen the video's production, appeared in it, and intended to show this film at the conference, which would be attended by many social-conservative activists. They raised objections to the film.
"How was that not some form of sexual harassment?" a former FreedomWorks official asks, noting that two female interns had been requested to act out a pretend sex scene. "And there were going to be thousands of Christian conservatives at this thing. This was a terrible lack of judgment."

Posted by Doctor Steve at February 14, 2013 05:33 PM"If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said, according to a video posted on YouTube by the NRA. "If you can't go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil America hated administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."
Quit parsing words. That was a threat directed towards the president of this nation and the Secret Service had no choice but to look into it.
If some dirty hippie said that about a Republican president you know damned well that you'd be birthing a panda over it.
Posted by Doctor Steve at February 14, 2013 05:55 PM@36 - clown steve cherry picked and left out the statement from Freedom Works at the end (see below). I read accounts from Mother Jones - a left wing smear Freedom Works website, but no actual video found and Freedom Works denied the report. Not saying this actually occurred or not, but so far the actual video is missing. Its a he said she said thing. It was in the heat of the 2012 election campaign and water under the bridge. The rest of the story from the article below;
"Mother Jones has been on top of FreedomWorks' post-election disarray for the past few months. In early December, it reported that Dick Armey, the former Congressman who helped build and eventually chair the group, resigned amid an internal clash. Armey received an $8 million buyout.
UPDATE (4:55 p.m. ET): In a statement, FreedomWorks communications director Jackie Bodnar denied the Mother Jones report.
"It is disappointing that so many media outlets are repeating unsourced, baseless and intentionally harmful accusations made by disgruntled former employees. The goal is clearly to distract from the important and successful work FreedomWorks is doing to equip grassroots fiscal conservatives around the country."

Hmm, who is saying what about who?
"It is disappointing that so many media outlets are repeating unsourced, baseless and intentionally harmful accusations made by disgruntled former employees."
Republicans accusing Republicans of doing what? Creating a Panda-Clinton sex video? That's FreedomWorks' denial? OMG!! Too funny.
"The goal is clearly to distract from the important and successful work FreedomWorks is doing to equip grassroots fiscal conservatives around the country."
Nary a word about David Corn or Mother Jones.
It didn't happen!! And yet former FreedomWorks employees are trying to disrupt the good work of FreedomWorks?
Please pass the popcorn.
Your issue is with Republicans, KDS, not Mother Jones, David Corn or myself.

And yet, not a single link to Mr. Gore saying that.
Not that it would be relevant, because Al-Jazeera is not an oil company. It's a media company, with no ties to the government (much less the oil interests) of Qatar.
Anyone qualified to comment on Al-Jazeera would know of that company's extensive reporting and editorial independence, traits which distinguish it not merely in the Arab countries, but all over the world. They proudly provide a forum for a large variety of viewpoints, which may well explain the animosity shown to them in this post.
Al Gore won more votes than W., and is now more successful in business than W. ever was. Having him beat you guys at your own self-proclaimed game just won't stop burning, will it?
Posted by tensor at February 15, 2013 12:07 AMFor starters, anybody who wants a good laugh at blatant Republican stupidity and hypocricy.
Let me run this one by you again, Stupe. FreedomWorks made a beastialty sex video featuring a fake panda and a fake Hillary Clinton and intended to show to Christian conservatives. And you say "who gives a flying frack?" Yeah, I can see where you're coming from with this one, Stupe. It's humiliating, isn't it? You'd like it to go away, wouldn't you? Heh. Good luck with that.
By the way, have morality issues much? LMFAO!!

What self-proclaimed game (in your own mind) ? How does that help you besides the perception that one from the left has more money than one from the right ? I see that worship Al Gore's hypocrisy and his money - you are an EMPTY soul. That makes no sense - apparently only useful idiots who extol Obamunism can appreciate that.

I suppose someone should tell you, KDS. That's kind of weird.
Yes, Al Gore is a bit of a hypocrit. He has made millions and millions off of global warming and the Current TV deal.
Not bad work if you can get it!!!!
